Welcome to St. John’s Church

Members of St. John’s congregation have impacted and shaped the character and direction of Newport for 170 years! Serving the Savior and relying on Him, we are one of Newport’s strongest and largest churches whose DNA is that of personally connecting with and serving others. If you are spiritual, but not religious, we want to welcome and encourage you on your journey of faith.  We are located in the historic East Row ‘Mansion Hill’ neighborhood – walking distance from the Newport Aquarium and the Levee shopping and entertainment district. Let us know how we can serve you! Please look around our website. It contains helpful information on worship and events, ministries offered, Sunday school and other education opportunities and many ways to get connected to our church community. God Bless.

 NEWS & SPECIAL EVENTS

9/27/17: Dinner to Benefit CROP Walk

Before Choir practice on the 27th, we will be hosting a dinner in Fellowship Hall and accepting freewill donations to benefit the CROP Walk taking place here on October 1st. All are welcome. Come and enjoy some good food for a good cause!

10/1/17: Neighbors In Need Special Mission Offering

During Sunday worship service on October 1st, we will be receiving the Neighbors In Need offering. NIN is a special mission offering of the UCC that supports ministries of justice and compassion throughout the United States. The 2017 theme for the NIN offering is “Protect the Sacred: In a Just World, Clean Water is Life.” You can visit this link to learn more.

10/1/17: World Communion Sunday

Sunday, October 1st is World Communion Sunday, a day on which congregations across the UCC and many other denominations will celebrate Holy Communion. The tradition was begun in 1934 as an attempt to bring churches together in a service of Christian unity-in which everyone might receive both inspiration and information, and above all, to know how important the Church of Jesus Christ is, and how each congregation is interconnected one with another.

10/1/17: CROP Hunger Walk

Join together with members of our church and community as St. John’s hosts the Greater Cincinnati CROP Walk! Registration takes place at 1pm, and the 3 mile walk will begin at 2pm. CROP Hunger Walks take place around the country to “raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world.” Learn more about the CROP walk by clicking here.
