Michael Sullivan, BM/MA began his organ career at age 16 when he became organist at Grace Methodist Church in Newport, Ky. After graduating from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, he became organist at Immanuel United Methodist Church in Lakeside Park, Ky, and later he became Music Director/ Organist at Christ Church, Fort Thomas, where he directed the music ministry for 16 years. After leaving Christ Church, he was invited to join the music staff of St. John’s UCC, Newport as organist and In the year 2000, he assumed the position of Music Director.
In addition to his church position, Mr. Sullivan taught public school music for 30 years. He also was adjunct professor of organ at Northern Ky. University for 10 years. During this time he was also accompanist for the Northern Ky. Community Chorus, where he , along with Dr. John Westlund, traveled with the chorus on several European choir tours.
Michael has loved his years at St. John’s, and is now especially privileged to be working with associate Music Director Dobin Park and the talented Choral Scholars from CCM.
