Matthew has been at St. John’s since March of 2026 where he first started working through his property maintenance business, Shephard Facility Management, and then took on the role of Director of Childhood Education Education in September of 2026. Matthew first was drawn to St. John’s to help the church manage and maintain their facilities and was drawn to the opportunity to help serve our children when the chance became available.
Matthew loves helping children grow in their faith, learn about God’s love, and understand how special they are. Watching their excitement as they learn and being able to make a positive difference in their lives is incredibility meaningful to Matthew.
Matthew’s favorite things about St. John’s is the staff and volunteers. During his time here he has had several great conversations with them and has enjoyed getting to know everyone. During his free time Matthew enjoys going on adventures and making memories with his wife, Miranda, and their three children, Geneva, Gentry, and Genette. A fun fact about Matthew is that he absolutely loves animals and being able to share that love with his children makes it even more special.
Matthew says that his faith and family are at the center of everything he does. Whether that is working through Shephard Facility Management, serving in youth ministry, or spending time with his family, he strives to serve others and make a positive difference wherever God places him.
